Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies




  1. Preheat oven to 350°F/175°C (verify with an oven thermometer).
  2. Place raisins into a bowl and cover with hot water. Let stand 10 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to cream together butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Stir into the sugar mix. Stir the oats and raisins into the mixture.
  5. Drop dough in rounded teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9-10 minutes until light and golden. DO NOT OVERBAKE! Let cookies cool for two full minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Store in an airtight container to keep them fresh and moist.
